Volunteer Opportunities:
Maintenance:
Weekdays and weekends. Special projects
only. Volunteers will assist with special building
and repair projects as instructed by their supervisor.
Projects may include painting, woodworking,
moving, etc. Volunteers must be 18.
Groundskeeping:
Available Monday-Friday, from 8am-4pm.
This volunteer opportunity is on as-needed basis.
Assist with mowing, gardening, and landscaping
of the hospital grounds as instructed by their
supervisor. Volunteers must be 18.
Warehouse:
Monday-Friday from, 8am-4pm. This volunteer
opportunity involved assisting in receiving
shipments of supplies, labeling supplies, inventory
and delivering supplies to the various departments
within the hospital.
Kitchen/Dietary:
Available anytime Monday-Sunday, 7am-6pm.
A food handler's permit is required to volunteer
in the kitchen. You will assist with cooking
and preparation of the meals as well as serving
and clean-up. Volunteering in this area is on
an as-needed basis. Volunteers must be 18.
Clerical/Administration:
Available Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. This
opportunity involves light clerical duties including
filing, word processing, answering phones, miscellaneous
paperwork and special projects. Computer experience
is helpful, especially using MSWord and MSExcel.
Volunteering is on an as-needed basis.
Nursing:
Available Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm. Volunteers
will be asked to help with inventory such as
stocking and storing supplies and clothing.
There are also two other areas where volunteers
are needed on an-as need basis, driving patients
to appointments as well as work the switchboard
from 4-6pm.
Therapy:
Available Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Help
observe or lend a hand with our patients under
the supervision of our therapists. Take part
in some of our special projects: PT=Fit kids
club, SP=Music Fridays etc.
Recreation:
Available Monday-Friday, 3pm-7pm. Groups
and individuals welcome. A variety of activities
available and can be coordinated with the Recreation
Director specifically. Examples include, read
to kids at night, homework helpers, Big Brother/Big
sister etc. Special projects available as well.
